The Perch Kit

The Perch Kit is a saddle hunting kit with two pieces of gear: the Wayward Bridge phone mount and the Wayward Wire pocket bow hanger. The Bridge holds your phone in front of you on your saddle bridge so you can film your shot, check the wind, or run a map app without holding it. The Wire hangs your bow and gear within arm's reach and folds back into your pocket when you pack out. Neither one requires tools, screws, or any change to your saddle setup.

Designed by Green Beret Jake Roberts. Made in the USA. Lifetime transferable warranty.

What's in the kit

• Wayward Wire pocket bow hanger, Amsteel ($42) or OD Green paracord ($36)

You save $10 for bundling. Ships free.

Two problems every saddle hunter has

Your phone needs to be in front of you, not in a pocket you have to dig through with a deer in range. Your bow needs to hang where you can reach it, without screwing hardware into the tree or carrying a strap and arm system on the outside of your pack.

The Perch Kit solves both, and the whole kit fits in your pockets.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Perch Kit?
The Perch Kit is a two piece saddle hunting kit from Wayward Ridge: the Wayward Bridge magnetic phone mount and the Wayward Wire pocket bow hanger. It gives you a hands free spot for your phone and a place to hang your bow and gear without adding bulk.

Where does the phone mount attach?
On your saddle bridge at the carabiner, not the tree. Your phone sits in front of you for filming your shot, checking weather, or running a map app.

Does the magnet hold through a phone case?
Yes. Mount the included steel plate on the outside or inside of your phone case and the 45 lb rare earth magnet locks onto it.

Does the phone mount work with MagSafe?
Yes, but the connection with MagSafe alone is much weaker than with the included steel plate. If you run MagSafe alone, use the reversible shelf under the phone for extra fall protection. For full holding strength, slip the steel plate between your phone and your case.

Should I get the Amsteel or the paracord version?
If you want a version you will probably never have to do anything with, get Amsteel. If you want to save a few dollars and do not mind replacing the paracord when it wears out, get paracord.

What size Amsteel is the Wayward Wire?
7/64".

How much does each piece weigh?
The Wayward Bridge weighs 4.0 oz. The Wayward Wire weighs 3.7 oz in either the paracord or Amsteel version.

Will the bow hanger hold a compound bow?
Yes. The Wayward Wire holds up to 50 lb of bow and gear. It is not rated for body weight.

Is the bow hanger legal on public land?
It does not penetrate the tree, so it is allowed on ground where screw-in hangers are prohibited. Rules vary by state and by land manager, so check the regulations for the unit you hunt.

Is shipping free?
Yes. The Perch Kit ships free.

What is the warranty?
Lifetime and transferable. Paracord and Amsteel wear with normal use and are not covered, but replacements are available through the contact form.

Who makes the Perch Kit?
Wayward Ridge, designed and made in the United States. Founder Jake Roberts is a Green Beret who hunts public land with the same gear he sells.
